WHAT IS TRACPIPE®

TRACPIPE® STAINLESS STEEL
SEMI-RIGID GAS PIPING TO BS7838

TracPipe stainless steel semi-rigid gas pipe is quickly becoming the recognized alternative to traditional rigid copper or steel, installed between meter and appliance. (For installations before the meter it is possible to use TracPipe and reference should be made to BS EN 12007-1).

BSi Kitemarked to British Standard BS7838, TracPipe is suitable for natural gas, propane or butane, (1st 2nd and 3rd family gases), at working pressures to 75mbar.

For working pressures above 75mbar reference should be made to The Institution of Gas Engineers Utilization Procedures IGE/UP/2, and copies of approvals to ANSI (American National Standards Institute) can
be provided.

New to Europe, but with a 30 year proven history of installation initially in Japan, and then in North America, TracPipe has now captured more than 35% of the US gas pipe market. TracPipe is available from nationwide distributors and by mail order.

Tracpipe® manufactured to BS 7838 may be buried directly in screed/concrete, without the need for additional protection. Flow capacities for residential sizes of TracPipe are identical to those for copper (see BS 6891 - Specification for installation of low pressure gas pipework of up to 28 mm (R1) in domestic premises (2nd family gas)).

TracPipe bends by hand, needs very limited joining and dramatically reduces installation time with speed, flexibility and ease of handling and fitting – improving productivity and safety. TracPipe is available on long length reels, in seven bore sizes (DN 12,15,22,28,32,40 & 50) and terminates with male BSP fittings, simply and quickly attached, without the need for special tools. There is no need for bends or elbows as TracPipe can be easily bent by hand.

AutoFlare® - The Unique Gas Tight Fitting

At the heart of TracPipe's design is its unique patented AutoFlare fitting. AutoFlare's male BSP taper threads link all the benefits of TracPipe to traditional pipe fittings (e.g. malleable iron, steel etc) and do it with no special tools.

• none to buy • none to hire • none to lose •

Two spanners, a utility knife and a standard tube cutter are all you need to connect AutoFlare fittings. AutoFlare is self-flaring and easy to use. It is self-piloting and the joint seals with normal spanner torque for safe, leek-free connections. No paste or tape required.
